Newspaper printing press representing editorial integrity

Editorial

Editorial standards

How Daily Dispatch gathers, verifies and publishes news. These standards apply to all staff and freelance contributors.

Accuracy and verification

We seek at least two independent sources for contentious claims, or one primary document such as a court filing, statutory declaration or audited financial statement. Anonymous sources are used only when subjects face documented reprisal risk and when editors know the identity of the source.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected on the same URL with a timestamped note describing the change. Minor typographical fixes may be made without notice; material changes always are disclosed.

Independence

Advertisers and sponsors do not review articles before publication. Commercial partnerships are labelled at the top of sponsored pages. Staff do not accept gifts worth more than SGD 50 from subjects they cover.

Photography and imagery

News photographs are not manipulated to alter meaning. Illustrations and archival images are captioned to indicate their nature. Drone footage follows CAAS rules and municipal permits where required.

Comments and tips

Reader tips are verified before publication. We do not publish raw allegations. Contact [email protected] or use our contact form.
